Some Hot Summer reads and cards...

So little ol' me has been busy crafting, but...
I can't post these on my regular crafting blog. (okay I did post the cleaning guy, cause his junk is covered) But I just haven't been reading too much until this last week.  I was in a funk and frankly beside the newest book by Geneva Lee (which I am ravishing BTW)
I just haven't been in a romance mood.  I switched to my Sweet Dreams Box set, that I picked up in May and is no longer avalible via box set, which has proven to be just what I needed.  Lots of suspense and thriller fun with a bit of romance, but way more chills and thrills.
Aim to Kill by Allison Brennen
I ate this one up, loved the twists and turns.  I don't know if I liked the knowing what the bad guys knew at the same time in the story, but it definitely got me yelling at the main characters.  (so it worked well, I guess ;) )
I will definitely read more by Allison.

Until Death by J.T. Ellison- is the prequel that is only in the boxed set.
(http://amzn.to/1CSwh2U) - this is the 1st on in the series
Holy Mother of all Thrillers.  I haven't read a good cop thriller in awhile, this one was a thirst quencher, now I need to read the actual series, gah!  So as this one was only available in the boxed set, I am gonna say that the author is worth looking up.  She actually dug out her original that landed her an agent, but was never published and polished it a bit.  J.T. did mention that parts of the prequel are flash backs in the series.  I have added her to my must read list!
Any who  here are the rest of my cards that I can't actually post on my crafty blog, because of nudity...(even if it is just lines and coloring)

The images are from SLS Lines.  The male is a digital stamp, but the girls are two from the adult coloring book pages.  (just printed smaller instead of on a 8x11 piece of paper.)
Looking forward to getting back to Smith Price and Miss Belle...

AUTHOR BIO:
T.R. Cupak was born and raised in the suburbs of a Bay Area city in California. She was the closet nerd who hid her love of reading and writing short stories and poetry when she was younger. Back then it wasn’t considered cool to be into those types of activities for pleasure, whereas today you have TV shows, movies and books that glamourize that being a nerd is actually cool.

T. lives in a quiet, little, country town south of where she grew up. She is happily married to an amazing man who supports her in everything she does and spoils her rotten. They have a crazy little Shih Tzu named Harley. He's their fur-baby and even though he’s a pain in the arse most days, they love the little guy. She has an obsession with cars, especially fast ones. She enjoys her music louder than anyone should. Admittedly it’s to drown out hearing her own singing voice, or lack thereof. When she’s not at work or busy writing you can find her curled up reading a book on her Kindle with a glass of wine or Dirty Shirley.

T. lost touch with her creative side and stepped off the path of all things written in her early twenties. Six years ago, her passion for reading was rekindled. She began to utilize reading as a way to escape everyday chaos. Late 2013 she began journal writing. After a couple of months of journaling T. realized that this form of writing wasn't keeping her interest nor was it helping her to relax. After that realization settled in she changed the direction of her writing. Her creative aspirations were flowing once again and she happily embraced it. As her fingers started to dance across her keyboard she began to see her fictional characters begin to breathe life. Writing was only supposed to be a way for the new author to relax, but a story was born and T.R. Cupak is excited to be releasing her self-published debut novel, Alexa Crushed.

Some great Reads...

So I have been uber busy lately.  Being a country girl and all will do that with fieldwork and such.  I have had a chance to read some amazing books in the wee hours of the morning, but just haven't been able to give my full attention to reviews here...

I absolutely loved The Resistance (Hard to Resist Book 1) by S L Scott!  A yummy rocker read!  If you don't want to strangle and hug Jack Dalton at the same time in this one I don't know what you are reading.  Probably wasn't a proper read on the bus with my son, it was HOT!  ( I sat in the back seat so no one could read over my shoulder ;))

Tiffany Snow put out a little Blane and Kade Novella in the limited edition Sweet Dreams Boxed Set (Thirteen NEW Thrillers by Bestselling Authors to Benefit Diabetes Research)! OMG I missed my sexy Bad Boy and his Good Guy Brother!  I haven't read the rest of the books in this one yet, but the list of authors is amazing... so excited to find the time for this one after fieldwork!  She also has out her second book in the Twisted Ivy Series, Shadow of a Doubt (Tangled Ivy Book 2).  Loved the first so I am anticipating a great read here too.  It is loaded and waiting on my kindle!

I am currently working on The Virgin Romance Novelist by Meghan Quinn.  My husband may have been reading over my shoulder on this one.  "OH MY GOD woman what are you reading!"  He also asks what I learned today...hahaha.  It is laugh out loud funny!  And the names she comes up with to name parts are even some I haven't heard of.  I am only half way through... so far so funny.  A good read as well...

I will hopefully be back soon.  But if anyone wants to come help pick rocks and stuff so I can get back to reading I pay in margaritas, wine, beer, and laughter (all age appropriate of course)!

Bad Company Review

Bad Company by Lissa Jay
"Scottish psychologist Doctor Kelly Ann Darrow loves her career and has never permitted her feelings to impact her professionalism, but when biker Cameron Iss arrives in her care, she finds herself inexplicably drawn to the unconscious man. His tattoos and the mysterious circumstances of his arrival intrigue her to distraction.

Cameron Iss awakes in a strange country with no memory of how he got there and no knowledge of who he is. He takes out his frustrations at his amnesia on the sexy doctor enlisted with helping him unlock his mind.

A mutual chemistry forms between them, and Kelly is plagued with guilt at her unethical and inappropriate attraction to this, her most perplexing patient yet.

As his memories begin to return and they discover more about his violent past and his connection with a motorcycle club in America, the element of danger both excites and frightens Kelly, and nothing can douse the erotic fire he has sparked inside her.

Will Kelly risk her career, her reputation, and all she is for the man who has ignited a dormant passion within her or will his returning memories steal him away for good?"- Book Blurb on Amazon

This one is Erotica and yes it is 18+.
It was a good read.  I love me a naughty biker, but Cameron/Cain has a very emotional side too.  Kinda contradicts the whole biker image sometimes, but it all makes sense when his memory returns. And, Yes, you may cry!

I had a hard time putting this one down when things got interesting.  I still have a few unanswered questions, but I am hoping some of them will come out in the next book.  Or maybe I just get to make my own guesses on a few things.  You read it you will see what I mean and if it's just me being over analytical, well there is always that too.

Lots of sex in the first half of the book.  I would say borderline almost too much.  I think she overdid the whole fantasy sex thing too much.  I definitely could say yup this is an erotica novel with in the first couple chapters.  I will say my husband read over my shoulder a few times...he is too funny..."holy crap woman what are you reading again!"

I give this one 4 out of 5 kinky stars.

Love Takes Your Breath Away Review

Love Takes Your Breath Away by Caleigh Hernandez
(Book 1 in the Truth About Love Series)

"What happens after the happily ever after? Is that all there is? Marriage, career, kids, and you're set?

Life, love and the pursuit of happiness doesn't stop at "'til death do us part." For Izzy & Diego it's just the beginning.

"Forever and ever, I do" is not as easy to accomplish as is saying it. In real life, there are ups and downs, ins and outs. Along with the good comes the bad. With health, there's sickness. Is love enough? Is it forever? Will it survive?

*******************************************

Our story starts with the proffered happily ever after moment: a bride in a dress, a groom in his tux, a best man, a maid of honor, vows of love and forever and Elvis. Like most fairy tales, Diego and I were still madly in love after saying, "I do." Hell, the man has turned loving me into an art form. Not a moment is wasted. With him there's a surprise at every turn, and just when I think he couldn't get any better, he takes my breath away." Amazon Book Blurb

So I might of went into this one totally blind...I didn't read the blurb, I didn't know what to expect...I did know that there is a second one in the series coming soon.  I love a good series, but I am about as patient as a two year old when I have to wait for my next fix to come out!

I loved the story.  So many stop at the "I do's", this one starts there.  We all know real life isn't happily ever after after the I do.  That is when the work starts!  Diego is a sweetheart and Izzy has some sass.  Lots of ahh moments and laughs.  All I am gonna say is "Miss PAP Smear"...almost fell off the treadmill on that one.

So I give this one 5 kinky stars and a great debut for Mrs.Hernandez!

Crown Me Review

Crown Me by Geneva Lee

"The New York Times and USA Today Bestselling series continues...

As the world tried to tear us apart, Alexander fought for me, claiming me as his own. I belong to him—body, heart, and soul. I found strength in his dominance. In his control. In his love.

Still I could always feel it: the darkness creeping toward our joy, threatening to overcome us. But I never imagined it would end like this. I thought I knew what marrying Alexander meant to my life. To my independence. To us.

I was wrong.

Ripped apart by tragedy, fighting for love, Clara and Alexander face their darkest hour in the
stunning conclusion to their saga…"- Amazon Book Blurb

Oh Alexander and Clara...sigh...

First off you have to read the first two books or this one won't mean anything.  I was hooked from the beginning and enjoyed their journey to overcome and discover joy, love, and peace.  Then this one comes out and shakes it all up again!

I'm not gonna ruin it with spoilers, but I didn't see a few things coming.  Ms.Lee does a beautiful job setting you up for a few surprises that knock you off your game.  She also left a few strings dangling that you never get answers to.  I am hoping that these will carry over into the next one in the series (Bell's HEA).  I hate loose ends...

All in all it was a great read and help me out of my reading slump... 4.5 kinky stars.

Who is she gonna choose?

This is T.R.'s first release and what a release it is.  She did an amazingly good job developing the characters and setting the scene.  It was an emotional read at points and a what-the-hell-are-you-doing read once or twice too.  She has added enough what-ifs and how-is-that-gonna-play-out to get me itching for the next book.  Watch out for the kink in here,  I wasn't expecting it at the level it is, but well done and orchestrated for the level of experience they have/had and built from there. I cast my vote for Devin now, but reserve the right to switch to Ethan...haha.

Slow Burn by K.Bromberg

“From the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Driven series.
One night. That’s all it was supposed to be . . .
Reeling from the sudden loss of her sister, Haddie Montgomery has sworn off relationships. All she wanted from Beckett Daniels was a sexy distraction to help her escape her pain for just a little while . . .There weren’t supposed to be any strings attached-so why can’t she shake the memory of that unforgettable night from her thoughts? Or the taste of his kiss from her lips?
No matter how hard Haddie tries to forget about him, Becks relentlessly tries to prove that she should start living for today. But she is determined to avoid romantic commitment, and she can always use her ex-boyfriend’s reappearance to help snuff out the slow burn within her that Becks has sparked . . .
Or will fate force her to realize that this kind of connection doesn’t come along very often and a chance at love is worth the risk?”–Book Blurb on Amazon
What can I say but WOW!  If you have read the Driven Trilogy by Ms.Bromberg, you kinda know the emotional roller coaster you should be prepared for as well as the hot flashes of kink!  Did it meet all expectations?  No, it surpassed them!  I don’t want to give anything away, but she has such a way with words and writing about real life situations, fears, and feelings that I am speechless.  I will say it was hard to not be mad at points with how Haddie behaved. Then at the same time seeing yourself in that situation and trying to understanding the why-- Haddie would push the way she pushed and run the way she ran makes sense.  It really did push a lot of emotional limits and real to life experiences that some people won't be able to handle.  Beckett is the true whole hearted, stubborn country boy, with some smoking hot moves that you will fall in love with.  This is a stand alone novel, you don’t have to have read the others to catch anything, but if you haven’t read the others you are gonna want to go back and read them at some point, you’ll understand after you read this one.  So way to hit it out of the park again Ms.B!

Welcome and a Review!

Welcome to Think Kink Book Review!  We are just getting started so bear with us, as it may take a bit to get our gears greased.  In the next weeks we will be doing a give away, so check back often.  Now on to my first review...
Kaleidoscope Hearts by Claire Contreras
The book is about a second chance at romance. Did I enjoy it? Yes. Was I frustrated with the characters at times? Most definitely! From Estelle’s stubbornness to Oliver’s never-ending whatever attitude and add to that an infuriating older brother standing in the way half the time. I found myself ready to kick a little stubborn butt myself! You know how as you read sometimes you just want to yell at them to figure their shit out and get on with it already. I got that a lot in this one. It was an excellent read, because for me if a book gets be to the point where I am yelling at the characters in my head then I was hooked and thoroughly ignoring the world around me. Just saying.
This was the first by Claire Contreras that I have read, I liked her writing so I may go back and read some more of her stuff. A great overall story and kept me in it to the end. You can check it out below…
