Alexa Crushed by T.R. Cupka

"Alexa Morgan lost her mother when she was two. At eighteen, her father and stepmother died when a devastating earthquake hit the Bay Area. Only one person has remained a constant in her life: Devin.

Devin has been Alexa’s best friend since childhood. The two are inseparable—or they were until Devin declared his love for her at sixteen. When Alexa can offer him only friendship in return, Devin retreats, brokenhearted.

Alexa, on the other hand, longs for Ethan, the boy next door. Four years older than her, and with an ever-changing roster of girlfriends, Ethan is everything Devin isn’t: wild, sensual, and unpredictable.

In the aftermath of the deadly earthquake, Ethan makes his move on Alexa, who reciprocates in a confused whirl of grief and desire. When Ethan leaves town the next day, Devin comes back into Alexa’s life, offering support and expecting nothing in return." Book Blurb on Amazon.

Who is she gonna choose?

This is T.R.'s first release and what a release it is.  She did an amazingly good job developing the characters and setting the scene.  It was an emotional read at points and a what-the-hell-are-you-doing read once or twice too.  She has added enough what-ifs and how-is-that-gonna-play-out to get me itching for the next book.  Watch out for the kink in here,  I wasn't expecting it at the level it is, but well done and orchestrated for the level of experience they have/had and built from there. I cast my vote for Devin now, but reserve the right to switch to Ethan...haha.

Slow Burn by K.Bromberg

“From the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Driven series.
One night. That’s all it was supposed to be . . .
Reeling from the sudden loss of her sister, Haddie Montgomery has sworn off relationships. All she wanted from Beckett Daniels was a sexy distraction to help her escape her pain for just a little while . . .There weren’t supposed to be any strings attached-so why can’t she shake the memory of that unforgettable night from her thoughts? Or the taste of his kiss from her lips?
No matter how hard Haddie tries to forget about him, Becks relentlessly tries to prove that she should start living for today. But she is determined to avoid romantic commitment, and she can always use her ex-boyfriend’s reappearance to help snuff out the slow burn within her that Becks has sparked . . .
Or will fate force her to realize that this kind of connection doesn’t come along very often and a chance at love is worth the risk?”–Book Blurb on Amazon
What can I say but WOW!  If you have read the Driven Trilogy by Ms.Bromberg, you kinda know the emotional roller coaster you should be prepared for as well as the hot flashes of kink!  Did it meet all expectations?  No, it surpassed them!  I don’t want to give anything away, but she has such a way with words and writing about real life situations, fears, and feelings that I am speechless.  I will say it was hard to not be mad at points with how Haddie behaved. Then at the same time seeing yourself in that situation and trying to understanding the why-- Haddie would push the way she pushed and run the way she ran makes sense.  It really did push a lot of emotional limits and real to life experiences that some people won't be able to handle.  Beckett is the true whole hearted, stubborn country boy, with some smoking hot moves that you will fall in love with.  This is a stand alone novel, you don’t have to have read the others to catch anything, but if you haven’t read the others you are gonna want to go back and read them at some point, you’ll understand after you read this one.  So way to hit it out of the park again Ms.B!

Welcome and a Review!

Welcome to Think Kink Book Review!  We are just getting started so bear with us, as it may take a bit to get our gears greased.  In the next weeks we will be doing a give away, so check back often.  Now on to my first review...
Kaleidoscope Hearts by Claire Contreras
The book is about a second chance at romance. Did I enjoy it? Yes. Was I frustrated with the characters at times? Most definitely! From Estelle’s stubbornness to Oliver’s never-ending whatever attitude and add to that an infuriating older brother standing in the way half the time. I found myself ready to kick a little stubborn butt myself! You know how as you read sometimes you just want to yell at them to figure their shit out and get on with it already. I got that a lot in this one. It was an excellent read, because for me if a book gets be to the point where I am yelling at the characters in my head then I was hooked and thoroughly ignoring the world around me. Just saying.
This was the first by Claire Contreras that I have read, I liked her writing so I may go back and read some more of her stuff. A great overall story and kept me in it to the end. You can check it out below…
